IMPORTANCE AND ROLE OF DIRECTIONS IN VASTU SHASTRA :-

Vastu Shastra essentiality can also be called the science of directions.

There are 4 main directions in Vastu EAST, WEST , NORTH & SOUTH and 4 sub-directions or the corners at which the main directions meet namely NORTH-EAST , NORTH-WEST SOUTH-EAST , SOUTH-WEST .

Each Main Direction in Vastu Shastra has its own significance in vastu Shastra and the corner directions retain the characteristics of the two sides they join along with their own characteristics. Also As per my analysis the 4 sub directions have more importance that the main direction. Vastu Shastra essentially Deals with the positioning of the House/ office / factory along with other Furniture in the rooms and various other things in any place according to the above mentioned directions.

The Arrangements of the Rooms and Furniture Along with Proper Color Combinations if done up as per the proper directions in accordance with VASTU SHASTRA ensure proper flow of positive energy throughout the Home or office or any other piece of land and influence the lives of its inhabitance in a very favorable manner.

  • EAST DIRECTION (PURAV):

  • East is the first direction in VASTU SHASTRA, Since SUN the source of our Energy Rises from the east.

  • Planet SUN Rules this direction.
  • LORD INDRA (Supreme God of all Gods) is the lord of the direction East.
  • LORD INDRA is also supposed to bring Rains and whenever there is no rainfall in any region, people pray to LORD INDRA and Seek his blessings .
  • It is the direction of prosperity and Victory. Its is a common practice to sit and pray in the east to the sun as it brings happiness and prosperity to our lives. Lord INDRA is the giver of wealth.
  • This direction should be left as open as possible to bring in abundant prosperity.
  • Mirrors put up in this Direction double up prosperity.
Vastu Shastra ,WEST: (PASCHIM , Planet SATURN rules this direction
  • WEST DIRECTION: (PASCHIM)
  • Varun the Lord of Water is the lord of this Direction.
  • Generally this direction is not considered very auspicious.
  • Planet SATURN rules this direction.
  • The west direction is occupied by the lower abdomen, genitals & reproduction organs of the vaastu purush.
  • The openings & entries from this direction are not good. It spoils the prospects of income
  • Big opening from this direction is not advisable.
  • It is beneficial to have overhead water tank & the staircase in the West direction
  • It is beneficial to have garage in the West direction
  • In Most Cases it has been Noted that The West direction is more beneficial to women
LORD KUBER is the Lord of the NORTH direction ,
  • NORTH DIRECTION (UTTAR)

  • LORD KUBER is the Lord of the NORTH direction. He is considered the treasurer of the Gods.

  • This is the direction of Wealth and riches.
  • Mirrors are auspicious here they are supposed to double up your wealth.
  • Planet MERCURY rules this direction.
  • There should be big openings in the North direction
  • It is auspicious and there is financial gain if there is slope & well or underground Water tank on North side of the Plot . ?
  • There is a loss wealth & prosperity if there is heavy construction in the North direction.

  • North means Lord Kubera abode This its is Advised to keep a Cash Box or SAFE for cash / treasury or valuable items in the NORTH Direction of the Home or Office .

SOUTH DAKSHIN Vastu Shastra
  • SOUTH: (DAKSHIN)
  • LORD YAMA is the lord of South direction. He is the lord of Death.
  • As Per Vastu Shastra South direction is considered very Inauspicious for any activity.
  • South direction should always be kept heavy and loaded.
  • Planet MARS rules South direction.
  • It is beneficial if the South direction is on a higher level & it is auspicious to have overhead water tank in this region.
  • It is very bad to have a basement in the South direction.
  • It has been Noted that Persons living in the South Facing Door House face Problems after 8 Yrs of Staying in that Place.
NORTH- EAST (ISHANYA) , Vastu Shastra
  • NORTH- EAST: (ISHANYA)
  • North East is the direction of Purity and divinity.
  • The Sun's powerful Ultra Violet rays fall on this Direction.
  • Doing pooja in North East direction is considered Auspicious. Best Direction to Place a Mandir.
  • North East Direction Should is left as empty and free as possible.
  • Toilets in North East bring extreme misery and misfortune.
  • NORTH EAST corner missing in any plot home or office leads to innumerable calamities and enigmas in life.
  • The owner of North East is itself the supreme deity of Hindus Lord SHIVA.
  • The Planet for North East direction is Brahaspati Jupiter This direction gives over all prosperity in life.
NORTH WEST corner Vastu Shastra
  • NORTH WEST (VAYU)
  • Vayu the god of the wind controls North West direction.
  • Lord Hanuman is also symbolic of this direction - North West,
  • Air and Wind are necessary for life; So Tall structures are banned here in the North West .
  • As Per Vastu Shastra NORTH WEST corner missing in any plot home or office leads to unnecessary enmity & fear.
  • Planet MOON rules this direction North West
  • The North West direction Plays a very important role in relationships, friendliness & co- operation in a persons Life.
  • North West is the Direction of Movement , Thus as per Vastu Girls who are not Getting married after reaching a marriageable age , Generally get Married Soon if they sleep in the North West Room or Side of the House.
AGNI or FIRE dominates the South East direction. Vastu Shastra
  • SOUTH EAST: ( AGNEYA)

  • AGNI or FIRE dominates the South East direction. Angi stands for Strength determination and fame.

  • People doing Homa and havens at Homes are blessed by Agni and enjoy wealth and prosperity and fame.
  • Missing SOUTHEAST corner leads to Disputes in family life.
  • Kitchen is highly recommended in the South East Direction
  • Planet VENUS rules the South East Direction.
South West Direction Vastu Shastra
  • SOUTH WEST (NAIRUTTYA)
  • Nairutti (Lord of the demons) is the lord of South West Direction.
  • Therefore South West Direction is the most inauspicious and evil direction as Per Vastu for the Enterance. Doors here many times bring misfortune.
  • South West Direction space should be filled with heavy stuff to pull down the negativity of this direction.
  • Missing SOUTHWEST corner leads to mental and physical disabilities in family life.
  • Planet RAHU rules the South West Direction.
  • The name itself suggests the demon in it. The North East direction is the direction of god whereas the direction South West is that of demons.
Brahama Sthan Vastu Shastra Directions
  • CENTER POINT - BRAHMA STHAN
  • BHRAMA - The Creator himself rules this space. Therefore this place is called the Brahama Sthan.
  • Any construction or Weights is Banned here in the center.

  • Center Portion of any plot, home or Office should be kept Empty. Otherwise any weights here lead to Instability in life.

  • Energy Flows through the center to all the points of the plot , therefore this energy should not be disturbed.
  • No pillars and no rooms should be constructed at this place IN the Brahma Sthan and no heavy furniture should be kept in the centre of any room
